Cognitive Hazard
Yesterday I was off work on a rota day off due to working Saturday.
I woke at around 07:00 and got up to feed the cats and make tea.
I went back to bed and took my medication and went back to sleep for a lie in.

Got up around 11:00 as Viv and I were going into town for some shoe shoppings and a big fried breakfast as a treat.

I felt very tired.

I assumed this was due to having the extra sleep as that happens sometimes. I think due to sleeping Rhythms and getting up during a deep sleep phase.

I lay down for a couple of extra hours but still felt off. No feeling down, just not feeling 'up' and still tired. Not exhausted , but I just wanted to close my eyes and sleep.

Went to bed around 22:30 and felt I went straight to sleep. Only woken by Robin howling about his ring (I'll explain later)

Woke up then morning feeling tired, which is of course totally normal in the morning, fed cats, made tea, had medication. Went to work.

Around 11:30 I was still feeling off and tired and was starting to worry as to why. It did not seem right.

I opened my draw at work to get some sellotape when I saw my medication (I take it morning, afternoon and night) And I had a 'oh noz' moment when I realised I had the wrong pills at work.

You see I'm on 300mg 3 times a day. The pills come in 300mg and 100mg capsules.

I realised the pills at work were 100mg and I was only taking one of them, as I thought they were 300mg.

Then I discovered the truth.

They WERE the correct pills.

And for the last couple of days, in the morning (and possibly night) I had been taking THREE 300mg pills instead of three 100mg pills. Three time my dose!

I called the Doctor at once and explained my slight 'accident'

Thankfully the Doctor said not to worry as it was still within the safe dosage, for someone with extreme epilepsy (Which these pills were originally made for)
However he said I may feel 'sleepy'.

That was VERY true.

I explained to work and came straight home. I drove very carefully with windows open and radio on, being extra careful. I also called Viv beforehand so she would not be worried why I return home early.

Went to bed about 12:30 and have just got up. It's now 19:22.

I still feel tired. Brain tired not body tired. My eyes just want to be closed.

However. An improvement is there. And the Doctor said I should be fine for tomorrow.

So, you can be sure I'll be looking closer at my pills from now on.
